A PRELIMINARY STUDY TOWARD A FACILITIES MASTER PLAN
Client: Manitoba Centennial Centre Corporation (MCCC)
Since the1960s, the Centennial Centre has been a facility that was an example of an 'urban renewal' project of the era and has been both the hub and jewel in the crown of Manitoba's cultural acitvities. While the MCCC's facilities have served the community well, there is a recognition that they are aging and there exists a sincere desire to determine how best to preserve the legacy of the MCCC for future generations. It was felt that renewing the MCCC, while at the same time looking to renew and revitalize the Cultural District of Winnipeg, could lead to the development of a 'Sesquicentennial' project for which all Manitobans could be proud. This study was the first step toward the development of such a project.
